Report on Conservation Easements/Conservation Data Released
The U.S. Endowment today released a report entitled, Forest Conservation Easements: Who’s Keeping Track. The document not only summarizes findings from a convening of conservation interests — both federal agencies and not-for-profits — working to collect and manage conservation data across the U.S., but it also serves as an overview of some of the nation’s primary programs and initiatives designed to collect and share conservation activity of varied kinds. “We are especially pleased to be able to provide this information for anyone wishing to understand the state-of-the-field in collection and management of key conservation data,” said Endowment President Carlton Owen. He continued, “While the work will inform and guide a collaborative effort to focus on conservation easements of all types — forest and non-forest — this report is also part of our commitment to share information so that others can build on it without having to tread the same ground.” The report can be accessed through the link above or in the Endowment Publications section of the website.
