Endowment “Webinar” Serves Foundation Peer

At the request of the Blandin Foundation and its “Vital Forests/Vital Communities” initiative, U.S. Endowment President Carlton Owen today conducted an hour-long “webinar.” The webinar was entitled, “The Softwood Lumber Dispute: What It’s About, Why and What It’s Got to do with The U.S. Endowment.” The overall purpose of the educational seminar was to better ground Blandin’s Vital Forests/Vital Communities participants who will in mid-May be conducting an on-site visit to forest and mill operations in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Through the Vital Forests initiative Blandin is working “in partnership with others to develop and implement strategies that promote the connection between a healthy forest-based economy, a healthy forest ecosystem and healthy communities.”
