Internship Program
As a not-for-profit public charity, the Endowment operates with one of the leanest staff structures of its peer group with the intent of maximizing financial investment in mission-related work on the ground. To augment staffing needs on an individual project and/or a short-term basis, we have instituted an on-going internship program to attract bright minds from the post-graduate community. We have designed this program to provide real and substantial benefits to interns as well as to the Endowment.
The internship application period for 2019-2020 is open. For general details on the Endowment’s internship program, see the Position Description here. For instructions on how to apply go here.
Meet our current intern:
Camille Lasley of Nashville, TN, graduated from Furman University in May of 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences. During her time at Furman, Camille conducted research on the Whitewater River in South Carolina in order to obtain a greater understanding of the region’s geologic history. She conducted field studies, as well as extensive GIS work, to discover how the river has created and sustained the rugged topography of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In March of 2018, she received Furman University’s Earth and Environmental Science Research Award for her work on her thesis. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, reading, painting, and spending time with her family.
