
Tamar Datan
Tamar Datan (Vice Chair) of northern Virginia, is a consultant specializing in nonprofit management and governance. From 2006 to 2011, she was Executive Vice President of the Virginia-based Amazon Conservation Team, where she led strategic planning and capacity building efforts to position the organization for continued growth and maximum impact. Formerly, she held positions as Vice President of The Nature Conservancy and director of its Compatible Venture Group – which was dedicated to creating market-based strategies for accomplishing conservation results – and was Venture Fund Officer for The Pew Charitable Trusts, where she managed a grants portfolio totaling more than $100 million from 1990 – 1997. Also, from 2002 to 2006 she was a consultant in conservation, sustainable community development, and philanthropy. She holds a Bachelors of Arts with honors from Swarthmore College and a Masters of Education from Harvard University.
